It was a bright and sunny Wednesday morning. As she was saying goodbye to her father, Angela felt as though something was a little eerie. She heard a thunderous noise that was quite common back in the Oklahoma fields, but this time it rattled the entire house and that was rather unusual. Asking her father with great concern, she knew something dreadful had happened. At a. The shock, relief, and surprise that flooded her face is something I could never forget. The little "O" that her mouth made, her entire forehead, ears, and nose lifted in surprise as she let of the softest, most excited noise I had ever heard in my entire life.

Her icy blue eyes filled with a mixture of shock and joy behind those glasses of hers that now started filling with tears. Not long after I told her she had rivers of her own running down her cheeks while pulling me in for another bone shattering hug. She practically had to drag me to the car because I was a complete and utter wreck. She dragged me quickly and quietly to the car that seemed like a mile away. She made it look so effortless to drag a nearly passed out fourteen year old baby to that car. What a wonderful week, and way to end a transfer and begin a new one. I first wanted to say how grateful I am for this wonderful opportunity to be a missionary.

It's been almost a year since I left beauty of California behind. Yet, there is something beautiful about the desert here in Arizona that I have truly come to appreciate. Essay Topics Writing. Open Document. Here I am, fingers poised above my keyboard, a soft melody in the back ground plays through some old speakers, and a blank document is pulled up in front of me. But, in all honesty, I can't focus or come up with anything good enough. I haven't had a very scary life to base my essay off of, and I doubt a short story about the time I failed a paper would count. Outside, the bright moon light trickles into my room, and a soft breeze flows in through the partially open window.

Sighing, I concentrate on the screen, thinking about a somewhat horrifying story that won't lull my readers to sleep. I grudgingly pull myself from the plush office chair, and stroll out into the light less hallway. Out of nowhere a forceful grip strikes out, engulfing my upper arm. My eyes widen with fear, but before I can chirp out in surprise, a soft hand is placed across my month, promptly silencing my shrike. In a fit of desperation I spin around to lock eyes with my mom, her expression spikes my heart beat once again, the obvious fear radiates off of her. We continue to push on, scanning every inch of the house for a threat.

As if it wasn't scary enough the first time, another scream screeches throughout the house. I come to a sudden stop, my eyes frantically searching for answers. With no cure to my racing heart beat, I continue on, slightly dragging my hand on the wall for support. More feathers cover the wood floors, almost coming across as a colorful. I could see the river flowing towards the camp, I jumped in to the river. It chilled me to the bone. Then as my head popped out of the water I could see the majestic sun rise. And with the night my fear was now. As I tromped through the thick woods, I got the same warmth radiating from the forest. The sunlight danced, even through the still pine needles above me.

I stopped and waited, listening. Still listening, again nothing. Adam where are you!?! My voice echoed of of the thick trunks of the trees. The feeling of panic spread throughout me. I quickened my pace, anxious to find Adam. After walking for a few minutes, I realized I had wandered farther than I ever had before. I spun around, trying to remember what direction I had come from. After debating with myself, I decided to head back downhill. Slowly going along, trying to decided if I was going the right direction, I heard a low sobbing. My first thoughts jumping to Adam, I screamed his name. With no response, I quickened my pace. I spun around and there it. As I stepped outside, it was frosty and I felt cold.

The continuous rain and dismalness of the weather fills me with gloomy thoughts. I walked around the neighbourhood, and even managed not to get lost, but my eyes kept drawing me to the dead forest right next to my house. It was like something in the forest was calling my name to come. Without further ado, I walked through the shrubby path and into the mystical. My eyes drooped before finally sealing themselves closed. It only lasted for a second thought, as a bright light and a small pop, followed by his shriek of terror, brightened my eyes to open back up.

Another flash of light popped next to me, then another. The man pushed off of my back leaving my body on the ground in a broken mess. I gasped for air like a maniac. My chest burned with each breath I took, but at this point I embraced it each time with my uncontrollable desperation for air. I watched as the bits of light continued to hit the ground. The once malicious demon now ran off in front of me, swiping his top hat with his free hand as he made his escape. Following him were the flashes of light on the ground. Shortly after the man ran past the arch of dead trees and disappeared into the unknown the sound of pattering footsteps emerged from behind me. Whispers were made as I began to calm my breathing.

One of the set of footsteps made their way around to the front of me before I shut my eyes again. Once the footsteps became silent the presence of a palm pressed gently onto my neck. The feeling of warmth and softness quickly flowed through my body, warming up the death and despair from before with hope and hospitality. It laid there for a while before pulling itself away from me. A voice raised itself up to speak but was quickly silenced by. I lay in my bed, most likely past midnight. I quietly tip-toed down the creaking stairs to the door. I opened up the door to reveal a shadowy figure. He handed me a letter and without any words got back on his horse and rode away. I shut the door and walked back up the stairs, not even thinking of the letter I was just handed.

When I got upstairs I blew out the candle and went to sleep. The criteria in the Horror Genre essay applies to other stories in the Thrill Of Horror unit by the source of the horror, if it comes from inside or outside the character, or if something in general goes wrong. I have come out to a long hallway. Still no windows or light. Left, right, my head turns to see where to go next. I go with my instinct and turn right. Walking down the hallway, it is as silent as the many nights I spent in my room alone with my thoughts. My once luscious light brown hair was now matted and turning blond from the sun, my blue eyes were bright and stood out on my tanned skin but around them I had bags from sleepless nights from nightmares. I placed the mirror along with the supplies I had gathered for the journey ahead into my backpack.

At 9am I set of Southwards to meet Peter. For the first few hours I came across nothing out of the ordinary, the birds were flying in the sky and the fish were swimming and jumping in the river. About 1 mile away from where Peter and I had decided to meet, I looked up to the sky and saw that there were a swarm of crows above my head. Knowing that this were a sign of trouble I picked up my pace as I was in an open area with no cover. And that I must tell my family where I am going, and watch the time, and take care of myself and not stay away from home. When I finish playing, I go home. In the early morning, I was very careful to memorize my full name, the name of the neighborhood in which I live, the name of my mother, and the house number.

Although the story was scary for me, I learned a lot from it and had a reaction to every event that takes place in it. At the weekend I went on a trip with my friends to the forest. We took camping equipment, some food and water. The weather was nice, the trees were leafy, the birds were flying from tree to tree, the landscape was beautiful. We wandered in the woods and ate the fruits on the trees, and as we wandered, a huge bear appeared in front of us, looked at us and prepared to attack us. We were all very terrified, but the instructions reminded us not to run, not to scream, and to act calmly. I took out of my bag a self-defense spray bottle, which should be used in this case. But the bear left quietly and none of us were hurt. I get up early and sit in the garden of the house, enjoying the fresh air, listening to the sound of birds, watching beautiful flowers and other beautiful landscapes, but yesterday something terrifying happened to me.

When I sat on the bench in the garden and was enjoying nature I felt something moving under the chair. I quickly looked under the chair and found a large black snake. It moves slowly, I felt very terrified and could not move, I remained frozen in my place, the snake crawled slowly and I looked at it with horror, until it moved away several meters, I called the competent authority immediately and a trained man came and caught the snake. Last week I went with my family to the zoo, the weather was nice, and we were enjoying the nature, where there are a lot of green leafy trees and decorated with beautiful flowers and large areas that allow us to run and play, everything was beautiful. Then we went to the animal cages and watched the animals from a distance.

The veterinarian quickly intervened and gave the lion an anesthetic injection, and the man was able to get his hand out of the cage, but it had many wounds and was taken to the hospital. It was really terrifying moments. There are many people who feel terrified in the dark, and my brother is very afraid of the dark and feels terrified and imagines frightening things. So when the electricity went out and the house became dark. I went to his room quietly without feeling, and stood in front of him, making some strange sounds.

I used to live in a quiet neighborhood that nobody knew too much about the other. It is not as if anyone had grudges with anyone, although there was a naturally strange old man living right in our apartment who owned a painfully beautiful parrot. With my young age and native nature, I had this urge to go and at least get to know him, since no one ever did. Don't use plagiarized sources. One evening, I gathered enough courage to approach his house. Assuming that probably his old age had landed him to bed and did not hear my knocks, I voluntarily opened the door which was apparently unlocked.

The creepy sound of the door made me begin thinking that this was a bad idea and that I should retreat. One thing led to another, I was standing somewhere in the middle of the room, and the door had locked itself. As I made my way further into the house, I noticed that cobwebs filled the room. For a moment, I stopped and cleaned my glass owing to the dust that filled the room. Not only had it collected on my glasses, but my hair and hood as well. Making my way further, I found myself in the resting room. He did not have much, and the room had a single chair at the center that swayed voluntarily from its western design. Directly in front was a television that kept making noise without showing any signal. There was also furniture that was seemingly the resting point of the parrot.

There was a significant framed picture of someone who looked like the owner of the house, and a young woman who I assumed had been the wife. I was already restless and had it not been for my eagerness; I would have raced back home. The room was stuffy and dusty. Instantaneously, I heard some sound in the room. On looking back, I could see nothing and decided it was in my mind. I did not want to believe that is real. At this moment I had already made up my mind to leave. Then the voice came clear. Apparently, it was the parrot. I have been expecting this, so it did not move me. Nearing the door leading to upstairs, I noticed a shadow, enormous and frightening. Just before I could contemplate the view of what I saw, it went missing.

Eventually, I found myself up the stairs trying to catch a glimpse of where the sound of the parrot came from. I am not sure, but I believe I thought that I wanted to rescue the animal. Everything was misplaced in this place I wondered if he ever found anything he wanted. It was beginning to get dark. I could not see well, but there appeared to be something like human blood smeared on the walls. Water was running in the dirty bathtub and a human hand, flimsy and hairy, was hanging from the sink. I immediately turned around to run away and on whipping my head, whoop!

There was the scary old man! He stood right in front of me with his supporting stick and the parrot right on his shoulder. I said to myself this was a scary dream; nothing as frightening as this would merely happen, and to an innocent sole like me. Worse still, every second that passed, the man came nearer, and I just stood there unable to move. Whatever his method, the man would obviously decapitate me. I noticed an open window behind me. I wanted to believe that there would be a branch of the old tree that stood beside the house. Without time to think, I turned around and jumped. Holding on to the branch, I did not take time to land and just let myself do.

Of course, I got hurt from the landing, but that was not a problem at that moment. I ran home and decided to keep quiet since it would sound a home alone story. I never wanted to think, leave alone having a glimpse of the house ever again.
